Im Zentrum steht ein Kleidungsstück im Stil eines Boubou, einem traditionellen westafrikanischen Gewand. Aus einfachem Leinen gefertigt und als Textilskulptur konzipiert, verbindet es eine formal vertraute Silhouette mit einem irritierenden Inhalt. Der Boubou steht hier nicht für eine klare Herkunft, sondern für den Versuch, zwei kulturelle Realitäten zu verbinden: eine Form, die aus einer westafrikanischen Tradition stammt – gefüllt mit Erfahrungen, die in Deutschland gemacht wurden.

At the centre is a garment in the style of a boubou, a traditional West African dress. Made from simple linen and conceived as a textile sculpture, it combines a formally familiar silhouette with an irritating content. The boubou here does not stand for a clear origin, but for the attempt to combine two cultural realities: a form that originates from a West African tradition – filled with experiences that were made in Germany.
